What happens, and when.
Getting started is a conversation, not a contract. From your first email to a standing weekly time, six things happen, and none of them commits you to the next. Nothing is paid until the first session has happened.

Within one to two business days
A teacher writes back
Even if the answer is that we are not the right fit. The reply offers a time to talk, at whatever hour suits you.
Then, about twenty minutes
A free conversation
By phone or online. Mostly us listening. You hear the exact rate for your kid, and then you decide, with no pressure from us either way.
Before the first session
A short task for your kid
Half an hour of their own work, so the first paid hour is not spent working out where they are.
The first session
At home, a library, or online
You choose the place and, with your tutor, the time. Booked by the hour, and invoiced after it, not before.
Then, week by week
Same time, same tutor
If that suits. Or one session at a time, and you can stop whenever you like.
01 / TODAY
The first step, right here.
That is the whole path. Tell us the shape of yours, and a teacher writes back within one to two business days to set a time for the free twenty minutes.
A reply within one to two business days From a teacher, not a call centre, even if the answer is that we are not the right fit.
The conversation is free About twenty minutes, by phone or online. You hear the exact rate for your kid, then you decide.
Nothing to sign, nothing up front Sessions are booked by the hour and invoiced afterwards. No contract, no minimum term.
02 / WEEK TO WEEK
Once it is going.
The short version of how sessions are booked, moved and paid for. The terms and conditions are the long version, and where the two ever differ, the terms are the ones that count.
Booking
A standing time, or one at a time
A session is sixty minutes. Sessions are booked by the hour, and most keep the same hour each week with the same tutor. You can also book one session at a time, or add one before an exam. Small groups are capped at six students in the SACE years and eight in Years 7 to 10.
Moving or cancelling
Twenty-four hours’ notice
With that notice there is nothing to pay. Inside it, we will try to move the session to another time that week. If we cannot, half the hour is charged. If nobody is there at the agreed time and we have not heard from you, the hour is charged in full. Either way we tell you before it reaches an invoice. If your kid is unwell, neither applies. If we have to cancel, we reschedule to suit you or there is nothing to pay.
Paying
An invoice after each session
Due within seven days. Every rate is on the fees page, per hour, and you are told the exact figure for your kid before you commit to anything. There is no joining fee, no term to pay up front, and no contract.
Where
Your home, a library, or online
At home, a parent or another responsible adult is in the house for the whole session and we work in an open part of it, never a bedroom. At a public library, the open study areas. Online, camera on, with you knowing when and on what, and never recorded unless you ask us to.
Between sessions
Notes, so nobody is guessing
The same tutor every week, who remembers last session and knows what is being assessed next. Practice notes after each session, and a short progress note before each assessment. If it is not working, we say so, and we say what we would change.
Stopping
Whenever you like
There is no minimum term and no notice period beyond the twenty-four hours for whatever session is next. Tell us, and that is the end of it. If we ever end a booking, you are invoiced only for the sessions that have already happened.
