Most tutoring companies will not tell you who is teaching until after you have paid. Here is what you are told first, and the standard behind it.
Who Their name, and the subjects they take
On what basis A qualification in that same subject
Clearance A current Working with Children Check
Before you commit A free conversation, at no cost
01 / Who teaches now
StudyNote is small, and growing carefully is the point. This is everyone, not a selection, and it gets longer as people join.

Mathematics · Science
A classroom teacher first, and the STEM coordinator for mathematics and science in a South Australian school. Coordinating means planning how the two are taught across whole year levels, which is the same job one kid at a time.
Four things, whoever they are
Working with Children Check Current, and held before they sit with a kid. Without exception.
Qualified in the subject In the subject they teach, in their own right, worded so you can check it.
Experience at that year level Teaching experience in the year levels they take.
A conversation first A free first conversation before any commitment.
None of it is a one-off. A Working with Children Check is renewed every five years, and registration itself runs for a term and then has to be renewed again. It is a standard somebody has to keep meeting, not a certificate that sits on a wall.
02 / Why it matters in Year 12
70% Marked inside the school
Most parents have this the other way round.
In a SACE Stage 2 subject, most of the grade is decided by your kid’s own school. Tasks are set and graded there, against the performance standards published in that subject’s outline. At the end of the year the school submits samples of student work, and a moderation panel reads them again to confirm the school’s reading of those standards before final grades are given.
Our founder sits on that panel.
30% Marked externally
Set outside the school.
This is the part almost everybody plans around, and it accounts for 30% of the final grade. It is one common assessment across the state, marked outside the school, so your kid’s result here is not decided by their own teachers. For most subjects it is an exam. For a few, like Digital Technologies, it is a project submitted for external marking.
Tell us the subject and the year level and we will tell you the person, by name, before you book anything. If it is one of the founders you have their record above. If it is somebody who joined since, you get the same three things about them: who they are, what they are qualified in, and that their clearance is current.
A straight answer first. No, and we will not pretend otherwise as we grow. The founders are registered teachers and their records above say so. Everyone who joins clears the bar above instead: qualified in their own subject, experience at that year level, and a current Working with Children Check. Whatever a teacher holds, you are told it before anything is booked.
Ask us, and we will be specific rather than vague. Teacher registration in South Australia is a matter of public record for the people who hold it, so if you want to see that for whoever would be teaching your kid, say so and we will arrange it with them. We would rather you asked than wondered.
Ask us anyway. We will tell you straight away where we are up to rather than taking the booking and working it out later, and we will try to find you someone. Nobody is put in front of a kid to fill a gap in a timetable.
Yes. You are not allocated whoever is free on Tuesday. It is the same person each week, who remembers what happened in the last session and knows what is being assessed in the next one.
